We have withdrawn from the CMS Topsite directory due to the number of ads on their site which was also causing rendering issues for many browsers. The site is obviously not properly maintained and is used now purely as a revenue stream.
Whilst the idea of the Topsite directory was a good one (we were averaging 40th position of several hundred sites), we feel that with next to no incoming links from it, the advantage to them far outweighed any advantage we might have had as a participant.
In short, we didn't want to be sending our visitors to a poorly written and maintained site which has no new content and is used purely as a revenue stream.
